poornima dasgupta
a.k.a. poom, graduated from wesleyan university with a BA in art history and then attended parsons school of design. after spending years studying the styles of people past, she was sure that she wanted to design something to wear, eventually turning to jewelry. while championing the beauty of simple geometric shapes, she takes pride in the quality and craftsmanship of her rose gold and precious stone pieces.
poom lives in new york where she enjoys watching classic comedies, reading british murder mysteries, and listening to good old 80’s music. when she is not designing, she keeps busy fulfilling her volunteer duties for the humane society of the united states’ pets for life nyc, a program dedicated to helping the area’s neediest people to keep their pets. as an animal lover and humanitarian, she uses conflict free diamonds and fair trade gems in her work and donates a portion of profits to farm sanctuary, north shore animal league, and of course pets for life nyc.
